Last updated: May 2026. This policy explains how the ITC 2027 Organizing Committee collects, uses, and protects your personal data in connection with the 2027 Innovative Teacher Competition.
1. Who We Are
The 2027 Innovative Teacher Competition (“ITC 2027”, “we”, “us”) is a collaborative initiative organized by ALECSO (Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization), Classera for Smart Learning, Intel Corporation, and Millennium@EDU, sponsored by jp.ik and Sixunited. 2. What Data We Collect
- Registration data: full name, school email address, country, school name, and teaching subject.
- Submission data: lesson plan documents, associated teaching materials, YouTube video links demonstrating classroom application, and Intel® SFI course-completion certificates uploaded through the competition website.
- Media release forms: signed authorization forms for photographs and audio/video recordings featuring you or your students, required for any media submitted with your entry.
- Intel® SFI account data: your SFI enrollment and course-completion records, linked to the email address used during registration.
- Communication data: messages sent through the contact form, including name, email, and message content.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited (via standard server logs).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To manage your competition registration and application.
- To evaluate and score your submitted lesson plan / starter pack against the published judging rubric.
- To communicate competition updates, results, and announcements via the email address used during registration.
- To award prizes and issue certificates of participation and achievement.
- To feature winning starter packs on the Intel® SFI platform for global educational use.
- To publish winners’ names, school names, and countries as official competition results.
- To improve the competition platform and user experience.
4. Legal Basis
We process your data on the basis of: (a) contractual necessity — to fulfil our obligations as competition organizer; (b) your consent — for optional communications and media releases; and (c) legitimate interests — to operate a fair, transparent, and educationally impactful competition.
5. Data Sharing
- Co-organizers (ALECSO, Classera, Intel, Millennium@EDU) for competition administration and judging.
- Sponsors (jp.ik, Sixunited) for prize fulfilment and logistics.
- National Ministries of Education in your country for local-round coordination and nominee selection.
- Intel® SFI platform — winning starter packs may be featured for global educational use.
- Service providers (hosting, email delivery) under data-processing agreements.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Content License & Media Rights
By submitting an entry you agree that:
- Your submitted lesson plan and materials are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Full terms: creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0.
- The Organizing Committee has the right to make your content freely available for educational purposes on the web and in any media format for a period of three years from the close of entries.
- You grant the Organizing Committee an irrevocable right to use photographs, audio/video recordings, and likeness appearing in your submission for competition websites, publications, and promotional and educational materials — subject to signed media release forms for all identifiable individuals.
- For any identifiable individuals (including student minors) in submitted media, you must hold a signed personal media release form before submission. Minors require a parent or guardian signature. A form template is available on the competition website.
- Submitted content must be original, must not infringe any third-party rights, and must comply with all applicable national copyright laws.
7. Data Retention
Registration and submission data is retained for 3 years after the competition closing date to support appeals, audits, historical records, and the content-use rights granted above. Contact form messages are deleted after 12 months.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email itc@hfahmy.net. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
This site uses a single functional cookie (itc_lang) to remember your language preference (English or Arabic). No tracking or advertising cookies are set. If Polylang is installed, it may set its own language cookie.
10. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, access-controlled databases, and regular security audits to protect your data. In the event of a breach affecting your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
